Meet Abuzar Asif: The New Sales Specialist at Resonance Security

At Resonance, every new team member brings a fresh perspective, and we love to shine a light on the humans behind the titles. This time, we’re thrilled to introduce Abuzar Asif, our new Senior Sales Specialist. Based out of Toronto and packed with a passion for tech, food, sports, and all things security, Abuzar is already bringing a sharp, forward-thinking mindset to the team.

We caught up with him for a spotlight interview and a quick, rapid-fire to get to know him better. Here’s what he had to say:

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Abuzar Asif, and I’m based in Toronto. I was born in Pakistan and moved to Canada when I was five years old. It's been home ever since. I’m a massive sports fan who loves basketball, cricket, and UFC, and I also coach youth basketball on the side. I have a strong passion for tech and enjoy staying up to date with the latest trends and upcoming innovations. I'm also a big foodie, known among my friends for my solid restaurant recommendations. I love to travel and am deeply committed to my fitness journey.

2. Why do you want to work in a cybersecurity company like Resonance Security? What attracted you to us?

I see cybersecurity as a future-proof industry. As technology continues to grow rapidly, cybersecurity is no longer optional, it’s a necessity. It’s like a seatbelt: you wear it for protection so that if something goes wrong, you’re safe.

What attracted me to Resonance Security is the incredible team led by Charles and his clear passion for cybersecurity. From the talented developers to the marketing and in-house teams, everyone I’ve come across is not only knowledgeable, but genuinely passionate about protecting our clients. Simply put, the team loves what they do, and I want to be part of a culture that reflects that.

3. What’s one threat you think businesses/projects still underestimate?

As we shift toward AI, I think many businesses will be surprised by how much sensitive information employees/clients are sharing with these tools. If not properly secured, this opens the door to potential data breaches and leaks.

AI is a powerful and incredibly useful tool, but there needs to be stronger security around logging into platforms like GPT, Gemini, and Copilot, just to name a few. There should also be more focus and transparency around how our data is protected and stored.

In addition, businesses should invest more in educating their employees about these risks because even the best tools are only as secure as the people using them.

4. If you could create your own security tool, what problem would it solve?

I feel like Resonance has me beat in this role. However, with how large and common data leaks have become, I know there are tools that can find data leaks and show what personal information is out there. I would love to enhance a tool like that, one that not only detects leaked data, but also lets you delete any information you don’t want out there, immediately.

Rapidfire round:

1. Windows, Mac, or Linux

I love and use all things Apple, minus having a Mac. I have and will probably always be an Apple guy ;)

2. Red Team or Blue Team

Blue team and protecting against an attack. Though as a basketball guy, I always love offense.

3. Early Riser or Night Owl

I've always been a night owl, but I feel most productive in the morning.

4. Password Manager or Memory Master

Memory Master

We’re pumped to have Abuzar on board! He brings curiosity, conviction, and a customer-first mindset that aligns perfectly with our mission. If you’re a client, partner, or fellow security nerd, there’s a good chance you’ll be hearing from him soon.

Welcome to the team, Abuzar! 🛡️
